_______________

ORDER  OF SAINT  CONSTANTINE  THE  GREAT
and
ORDER  OF  SAINT  HELEN
A.D. 312

Admission to the above Orders is attained on personal merit only.
Any individuals or corporate entities who solicit increased membership of persons at large and who offer unlimited admission to the Orders on the basis of passage fees and periodic dues in the Name of The BYZANTINE  HOUSE  OF  LASCARIS  COMNENUS  are misleading the public and do not have the approval and authority of the HOUSE.  Such individuals or corporate entities bear direct moral, ethical, and material responsibility and liability to the persons they solicit.  Patent letters issued in the said unauthorized manner are false and in opposition to and in violation of the will and intent of the HOUSE and of the GRAND  MASTER and are, therefore, rejected by the HOUSE.

_______________

Prince Theodore IX
states:

"Our way is to grant honors gratuitously because we live from our professions and not from charity.  And, we are not exclusivists toward anyone who may come forth in homage to the Grand Constantine, Emperor of
Greeks and Romans."

_______________

The HOUSE respects and recognizes the Title Sir as a prerogative of the British Crown.  The HOUSE, therefore, does not grant nor does it authorize the use of such Title under the guise of Byzantine Tradition.
(See Titles)

[Note: An inexorable linkage, nevertheless, exists between England and New Rome, because it was in York (or Eboracum) where Constantine was proclaimed Emperor.]

_______________

The HOUSE rejects official display of the GREAT SEAL wherein the Bicephalous Eagle appears in gold (or), symbolizing the Emperor Enthroned.  Otherwise, the Eagle is Black (sable), although the field may be gold.

_______________

The HOUSE rejects usage of the Constantinian and Helenian Decorations  as ostentatious cosmetic appendages.  This includes ordinary social evening events and daily wear.  The Decorations are respected and are authorized to be worn only on solemn occasions and during official events.

_______________

The Constantinian Cross is not to be encircled by any writing that subordinates the dignity, expanse, and grandeur of the Cross.  In addition, the said infraction offends the dignity and grandeur of the Miter that symbolizes the Kingship of Christ over His Cross, and by consequence the Apostolic Patriarchal service  of the Episcopus and the Emperor in unison.

_______________

The Constantinian Order has a Military origin in defense of Christian ethos.  The Grand Master does not aspire to or demand misplaced loyalty for the person in that Office: The expectation is that of loyal and unadulterated friendship and citizen camaraderie with reciprocity.  Homage is welcome to the memory and dignity of Saint Constantine the Great.  Militancy is practiced only as a discipline in ceremonial events.  Traditional Byzantine Knighthood/Ladyship is expressed and sought in the cultural, ethical, moral, and spiritual elevation of individuals.

_______________

The Grand Master mandates that all interests desirous of establishing a Web Page in the name of the HOUSE or in the name of the Institutions under the aegis of the HOUSE must without exception first obtain the approval of the Grand Master or of the Heir Apparent.  Likewise, no information in the name of the HOUSE or in the name of the Institutions under the aegis of the HOUSE shall be published without prior approval as mandated above.

Expansion of Western Civilization: from Constantine the Great to Constantinople and Byzantium and onward to America

NEW BYZANTIUM is The AMERICAS
We are sincerely pleased you have come to visit our Site and we extend to you our warmest greeting in the highest tradition of BYZANTIUM.  Our Principal goal is to impart to you heretofore intentionally little known facts about BYZANTIUM as the foundation of Western Civilization.  We will avoid knowingly withholding the truth as an aim to social disorientation.  Practice of historical deception must cease.  We hope that you will enjoy our contribution to the fullest.  Welcome.
Constantine the Great began his eventful climb in York, England and reached the apex of his achievement in Constantinople, the City that he founded and named after himself (Constantine+Polis [city]=Constantinople).  By means of these pages, our readers travel through time, touching upon the early periods, including that of Constantine, of historical Constantinople, and of Hagia Sophia—the nexus of the Christian world—to arrive at places and events of our present day.  Our readers reach the outermost limit to which both Eastern and Western Christian groups expanded, bringing forth the flower of Western Civilization.  That limit is the Western Hemisphere as a whole, and in particular the coast of California near San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge where the two groups converged  as they approached from the North and from the South.
